"My Angel...My Happiness" Chapter 3

CHAPTER 3

As the days passed, their friendship grew stronger and stronger.
They used to come to the park daily and talked a lot.

To be precise, she was the one who talked and he just used to keep smiling; secretly adoring her cute antics in his heart.
It was a fine day when he went to the park and saw her sitting on the bench sadly.

He approached her in long strides and asked her impatiently.
"Hey kiddo what happened?"

"We are going back home."
she replied staring at his face.

His heart skipped a beat.
Of course, she was not supposed to stay here for her whole life.
She had to return to her home one day.
The reality hit him hard.

"My Dada is coming back from his foreign tour and we have to receive him. From there we will go back to our home."
He was listening to her in a trance.

She was confused, seeing his strange expressions.
She was a little kid anyway.
"Hey..."
She waved her hand in front of his face and he came back to his senses.

"Oh mmm yes, I got it. Right...amm absolutely."
He stammered.

"I will miss u. You are my best friend."
She exclaimed.

"I will miss you too kiddo. When are you leaving for your home?"
He asked clearing his throat.

"We are leaving in a while. I just came here to say goodbye to you."
His heart sank more.

"I gotta go."
She got up and adjusted her hairband.

"Take care of yourself a lot, bubbles and always remember, You are a brave girl. So promise me you will be brave."

"I promise."
She smiled and was about to leave when he stopped her.

"Hey, listen. Where do you live kiddo? I mean where is your home?"
He asked desperately.

"My home is in ABC Cantt. Bye"
She left almost running and he kept staring at her retreating back.

Her long hair tied in a high ponytail flowing in the air.
His eyes caught hold of a shiny thing falling on the ground.
He tried to stop her but she had gone.
He walked in lazy steps towards that and picked it up.
It was her charm bracelet that she used to wear always.
He smiled sadly and put that bracelet in his pocket.
His life is going to be sad again without his kiddo.

"I am gonna miss you bubbles. My angel."
He sighed and left.

17 Years Later

AK Designs.

A girl was standing in the office of CEO, shivering with fear.
She was sweating profusely.
She was staring at the back of the chair her boss was sitting on.
An envelope was placed on the table.

"Pick that up and read."
A rough male voice echoed in the room.
She picked up the envelope with trembling hands and took out the letter.
As she was reading it, her face was becoming paler.

"Sir...I..."
She stammered

"Get out"
Came a cold Voice.

"But Sir..."
"Leave"
A roar filled the room.

The girl almost fell hearing it, held the letter, and left the room almost running.
The chair turned.

A young man in his late twenties was sitting on the chair.
His head was resting on the back of the chair and his eyes were closed.
He was wearing a black three-piece suit with a matching tie.
A Calvin Klein watch was adorning his wrist.
He sighed and opened up his eyes.
He kept staring at the ceiling for a while and then picked up the extension.

"Hello, Madam Rosina, ask Sami to arrange the interviews for the new secretary ASAP.
And I don't want any excuses. Do you get that?"

"Yes sir"

"And connect with a foreign client I had a meeting with."
After a momentary pause, the video link was set.

"Hello, Mr. Franklin. Its Aaffaan Baig here....."
And the meeting went on.

09:00PM

A black Mercedes halted in the porch of a big mansion.
The door opened and Aaffaan stepped out of it.
He held his coat on his shoulders and started walking with heavy steps.

After putting his belongings in his room and getting fresh, he silently had his dinner alone.
He retired to his room and after finishing some pending works, he decided to sleep.
He was lying on his bed staring at the ceiling.
Sleep was far away from his eyes.
It was not new.
How boring his life was.
It had been years since he last smiled.
And It had been years since he last saw the reason for his smile.
He did not know whether he would ever be able to see her again.
He closed his eyes painfully.
Few lone memories danced in front of his eyes.
A smiling cute little face.
Big eyes with long lashes, batting innocently.
He sighed and opened up his eyes.
These years have cleared one thing for sure that he was irrevocably in love with his kiddo.

"Bubbles! no matter how many years pass, I'll keep loving you and will never give your place to anyone else. Its a promise."
He did not know when he drifted to sleep remembering her.

  1. Yet another beautiful story. I have been reading stories on this blog for few years now. Beautifully described scenes in details. When I am reading, I can almost see it playing like a movie in front of my eyes. Very few people have this talent. Keep it up.
